It is the name given to a pseudo-ecological movement that promotes stopping showering so as not to eliminate the skin's own biome and saving on shampoo, soap and deodorant. While it's true that cleaning cosmetics and water kill bacteria (both beneficial and harmful), this is more of a promotional campaign for hygiene products that claim to replace the bathroom.
