It is one of the ways to call a type of Amazonpalm, It is also called palm seje, milpesos, unamo, ungurahua, patabá or patauá. Its scientific name is Oenocarpus bataua ( or Jessenia bataua ) and belongs to the family Arecaceae. Patuá (in French patois) is a linguistic variety, mostly asanistic, from the French language. It is used in some parts of the Caribbean and in rural areas. Lexicons tend to be local and different. It is widely used to try to make yourself understood, accompany you with hand signals or gestures.
