In Mexico they say guamaras or guamaras the fruit of a tree. It's the Pithecellobium dulce in the Fabaceae family. It is also known with the names of henhouse pinzan, chiminango, gina, payande. guamúchil. In Venezuela they say guamara to a small endemic rodent of Delta Amacuro, a State of the Middle East. Its scientific name is Dasyprocta guamara and belongs to the Dasyproctidae family.

The guamara is an ancient plant that is located in the State of Sinaloa, the history of this plant dates back to the time of pirates, it used the fruit of this plant as a food since it is rich in vitamins and minerals, to not have refrigeration systems meats and other foods they damaged so that they ate the guamara and this allowed them to be healthy and free from diseases.
