The word Caduceus comes from the Greek meaning '' Olive wand adorned with garlands ''. Wore this Rod always heralds; as mercury was a Herald and Messenger of the gods, is applied especially the attribute of the Caduceus. But in this case garlands are replaced by two serpents, referring to the Fable: Mercury saw fighting 2 snakes and spread them peacefully with the Caduceus. Snakes were fighting at the time and were separated.
