Meaning of caduceo

The word Caduceus comes from the Greek meaning '' Olive wand adorned with garlands ''. Wore this Rod always heralds; as mercury was a Herald and Messenger of the gods, is applied especially the attribute of the Caduceus. But in this case garlands are replaced by two serpents, referring to the Fable: Mercury saw fighting 2 snakes and spread them peacefully with the Caduceus. Snakes were fighting at the time and were separated.

In certain places, is regarded as the emblem of the medical profession made up of a bundle of rods around which is wound the serpent from Epidaurus ( attribute of Asclepius, God of medicine ) and surmounted by a mirror ( 41 Prudencia attribute;
