In the astur-leones language de Aliste is a slab of slate of irregular size and shape that tends to be quadrangular and manageable. He is obtained from the quarries of the slopes of the river Aliste and used to make the roofs of the houses. Further north, in Asturias, call it llosa or llabana from the Latin word lamina.
