Meaning of -ipico by Felipe Lorenzo del Río

Felipe Lorenzo del Río

-ipico
  18

Nonspecific quantifying suffix : Some more without specifying how many , few more. It is usually used with cardinals less than one hundred when the units are not specified, as when it is said: John is twenty-something years old. We want to say that he has twenty-somethings, just over twenty without specifying how many more. Twenty-some, twenty-something or twenty-many, as we consider that it is closer to twenty or thirty. We can also separate the words and say: Twenty and something, thirty-something, one hundred and peak. If they are much more than a hundred we can also say: one hundred and the mother. The expressive richness of our language is milk, to say the least.
