1º_ Fatima is a woman's name popularized in Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic for religious influence. It has its origin in the Arabic voice 1601; 1614; 1575; 1591; 1616; 1605; 1614; 1577; ( fáatima ) that today is interpreted as "unique", but it would be the feminine of 1601; 1575; 1591; 1616; 1605; (fatim "weaned, independent son") which began to be used as a female name because of the tenderness and lovability of puppies. The importance among Muslims comes from being the name of Muhammad's daughter, Fatima az-Zahra, and among Catholics for the invocation of the Virgin of Fatima, in Portugal, where the Virgin Mary made her appearance before three little shepherds in 1917. 2º_ In addition to the aforementioned parish of Fatima in the province of Beira Litoral, district of Santarém, where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima is located, Portugal has other localities with the same name, as well as Argentina, Spain and Brazil.
