UPPER CLASS well-to-do class, aristocracy, the ABC1 class. Citizens were usually classified into upper class, middle class and lower class. Nowadays marketing and surveys concerned with consumption are much more restrictive and categorization has more divisions being the upper class associated with ABC1 and the middle class with C2 and C3.
