According to the Jewish religion, it is the name given to an angel sent by God to tempt humans and expose their flaws, errors, or sins. In Christianity and Islamism this concept of "tempter" is also taken, but already as a fallen angel, facing the Creator and bearer of evil. In Satanist beliefs it can be a divine entity to worship as in a religion, or also a philosophical representation of human characteristics. It is also used as an adjective to qualify a bad person.
