In Colombia it is a way of calling the tagua, which is a plant material widely used in handicrafts. It is also called yarina, ivory nut. It is obtained from several palm trees of the genus Phytelephas (Phytelephas aequatorialis, Phytelephas macrocarpa, Phytelephas seemannii), of the family Arecaceae.
