Meaning of logograma by furoya

furoya

logograma
  36

It is the name for a symbol that has a meaning of its own, not necessarily literal, and that combines with others to form a more complex word or idea. In many cases it has its origin in an ideogram, but by stylization of the stroke they can end up being practically unrecognizable. All this gave rise to the use of logograms for artistic purposes in design and poetry. The name is from Greek etymology by 955; 959; 947; 959; 962; ( logos "history, treatise, knowledge" ) 947; 961; 945; 956; 956; 945; ( gramma "letter" ) . See logography, calligram, sinography.
