BEIJING capital of China , today sometimes called BEIJING at the wish of the Chinese authorities . It began to be used from the late twentieth century. And it became more common since the 2008 Olympics. Beijing is the way to write it as a result of the transcription of the Chinese postal system. Pequín was also occasionally used. In English Peking was used.
