The etymology is Tupi, where guru means "diamond" and pi "purity". 2º_ River of northern Brazil (in Spanish it is written as Gurupi) ; it flows into the Atlantic . 3º_ The Gurupí Biological Reserve is a nature reserve in the state of Maranhão (Brazil). 4º_ It is a way of calling the "false bidder", who bids on the auctions to raise the offer.
