PAPA CRIOLLASolanum phureja flowering plant of the solanaceae family, cultivated in the mountainous valleys of South America. . It is widely consumed in the Andean countries. It is a herbaceous and tuberous plant, cultivated and diploid of potato. It differs from the other species of cultivated potatoes in that it does not have dormition/E] of the tubers (resting period, after forming, before sprouting). This property allows them to be replanted immediately in those areas of benign climates where continuous cultivation throughout the year is possible.
