BARROS JARPA in Chile : former Chilean President Ramón Barros Luco (1910-1915) liked a hot cheese and meat sandwich, which became popular throughout Chile and Mendoza, Argentina. Then former minister Ernesto Barros Jarpa found it difficult to eat and traded the meat for York ham, giving rise to the other popular Chilean sandwich.
