It was the system defended in the sixteenth century by the Danish astronomer Ticho Brahe, that of the silver nose, which united Copernicus' heliocentrism with the geocentrism of Ptolemy : The earth in the center. Around it the fixed stars, the moon and the sun and around the sun the other planets. In this way it was intended to explain the annual paralage of fixed stars, that is, that we do not appreciate difference in luminosity in the stars because the motionless earth would be in the center.
