A purported etymology would come from the Latin pantex, icis ( "belly, intestine") , by the belief that obese people would be less nervous. 4th_ Chorizo sandwich; it is an acronym for bread (cooked dough) chorizo apocope (sausage), although in Latin it was already said panticis to whatever "sausage" was.
