It is one of the many names that receives a plant of edible tubers. In Colombia we call it hoop, bore, ocumo, mafafa or malanga. It is also known as chameleon, chonque, mangarete, mangarito, mangarás-mirim, mangarás, elephant ear, quequesque, quequesque, scraper, taioba, yaro, tiquisque, picosa. Its scientific name is Xanthosoma sagittifolium and belongs to the family Araceae.
