Name of a Ugrofinesan village that inhabits the banks of the Volga. They are native to the Russian Republic of Mari-El. They are also called cheremis which in native languages means warriors or bad. Maris was another of the gods of Etruscan mythology. He was depicted as a baby or a child (usually a shepherd). He was the god of fertility, agriculture and livestock. He was the son of Hercle (Hercules) and Menrva (Minerva).
