It is the name of a species of armadillo from Bolivia, Paraguay and Northern Argentina. Dasypus means hairy leg or leg and septemcinctus, means seven ribbons or armored bands (refers to the number of bands you have on your shell or ossified skin). It is known as small mulita, mulita girl, tú mulita, seven-band mulita or seven-band armadillo. It is typical of the Chaco region.
