It is a South American bird ( Phalcoboenus chimango ) found from Paraguay to the Falkland Islands. As a fallate is hunter, but also scavenger and even herbivore and insectivore, so it is very useful for the control of pests and diseases that are transmitted by dead animals. It is not prey to human hunters, because its flesh is not of benefit.
