It is one of the common names of a medium-sized wader, long, curved beak. Belongs to the Family Scolopacidae and its scientific name is Numenius phaeopus. It also receives other names such as needles, shoelaces, cachimbero. In Colombia we say Turnstone, Common Sandpiper or Dunlin. It also means loquacious, talkative person. It can also be synonymous with barge (small flat-bottomed vessel). In the plural, Zarapicos, is the name of a Spanish village, in the province of Salamanca.
