iracas is incorrectly written and it should be written as "Iraca" being its meaning: It was the name of one of the five indigenous confederations of the Muisca people, that the Spaniards found in Colombian territory. It corresponded to what is now the Department of Boyacá and sun capital was Suamox, where they had a temple of worship to the Sun. Class of palms of medium bearing and without definite Stipe. Its scientific name is Carludovica palmata and bseparate de Iraca, tell Jipijapa or shawl. It is the Ciclantaceae family. With its leaves are hacn hats, fans and woven handicrafts. It is not a true Palm.
