Guava is a genus of plants which is technically known as Psidium. They belong to the family Myrtaceae. There are about 100 different species originating in America. It is very likely one of the most nutritious fruits that exists and is very rich in vitamin C and carotene. In Colombia it is very appetizing and is industrially used. The scientific name for the most common species is Psidium guajava.
