Perquin is a municipality located in the Department of Morazán in the eastern part of El Salvador. It has a population of 3,900 inhabitants. It borders to the North and to the East with the municipality of Arambala. to the South with Arambala and Jocoaitique and San Fernando (El Salvador ) to the West with San Fernando (El Salvador ) and Honduras. San Francisco Gotera, is located at a distance of 44 miles to the North of the Department's capital at an altitude of 1230 meters
