In English, esquire ( usually written esq. ) Mr/Mrs means provided that the person type with name and surname. So if we write only the surname is written Mister ( e.i. Mr. Smith ) But if you write the name and surname, writes John Smith Esq. It is not no grammatical rule if not rather an ancestral custom.
