It is the name of an American indigenous people, based in the states of New Mexico and Arizona (United States). It is also so called the language they speak. It is also called zuni or ashiwi.
ZU-American indigenous people of approximately 9000 individuals. They are village Indians, related to the Navajo, Apaches and hopi. They profess syncretic Christianity.
