Zapote . ( Of the nahua tzapotl , any fruit of sweet taste, then applied to the zapote). 1. m. tree family Sapotaceae, about ten meters in height, with straight, smooth dark bark and little resistant white wooden trunk, American Cup Round and thick, leaves alternate, reddish in axillary clusters, and edible, in form of Apple, with yellowish dark, sweet, aguanosa meat, and a thick, black, shiny seed.
