It is the name of a city and port on the Black Sea. Russia and Ukraine are currently being disputed. It belongs to the Republic of Crimea, but does not accept membership of Russia. There was the Yalta Conference, which was a meeting of the Allied leaders and Russia, after World War II. The word in ancient Greek and in Tartarus means coast.
