WASSON Robert Gordon Wasson was a pioneering writer in the study of ethnobotany, relationship between plants and local cultures His studies focused on ethnomycology, or part of ethnobotany concerning fungi, especially entheogenic fungi, i.e. those that produce alterations of vision or that have been used in religious or shamanic rituals.
