WACHUMA Echinopsis pachanoi, commonly called the San Pedro cactus, is a species of plant in the Cactaceae family. It is used in traditional Andean medicine for both human and veterinary use and is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant. This sacred plant is used for various purposes: to purge the body, cleanse the stomach, open consciousness, expand roots and connect with the different worlds or "levels". It is sometimes confused with its close relative Echinopsis peruviana, also called San Pedro male.
