In angelology, the virtues, like the Dominations and the Powers, are of the second hierarchy; The virtues are considered to be the angels in charge of governing heaven, being responsible for the order of the universe. They have the duty to regulate the actions of the lower angels, but they also have the mission of supervising the behavior of people, inspiring them and endowing them with confidence to do good and serve the Divine.
