It is most known as Ouabain, estrofantin-G, Acocanterina, ouabain Octahydrate and Kombetina. It is the name of a powerful cardiac Glycoside, which can be very toxic. He is extracted naturally from a vine or liana called scientifically Strophanthus gratus or a shrub (Acokanthera schimperi). Both plants are of the Apocynaceae family and are considered to be toxic. In Somalia was used to poison darts and arrows. Somali Word waabaayo means poisoned arrow.
