tungiformes is incorrectly written, and should be written as "Fungiformes" as meaning: Fungiform papillae. They have the form of a fungus, as its name suggests, and are composed of a bulging head, and a pedicel. They are scattered across the surface of the language, especially in front of the lingual V, these are highly visible and it has a reddish color due to the blood vessels that supply them.

They are the taste buds and disseminated by all the language, especially in the apex or tip of the same. The reddish color is due to the blood supply.
