1º_ It is an anglicism made verb for tokenization, and is used in sociology when someone is converted into a symbol or representation of a group, movement or politics. Also for cases of florerism where someone is put in a position or position not because of their ability or merits but to cover a quota because they meet conditions of gender, ethnicity, age, . . . The origin is in the English word token ("symbol"). 2º_ In banking and computerized security it would be to convert a piece of data into another that represents it and contains its value, but not the same information, although from that fragment the original can be recognized.
