It is a cake-shaped food, which is made by natural and controlled fermentation of soy. It is popular in Southeast Asia and is very nutritious.

TEMPEH protein product derived from soybeans, very consumed on the island of Java and also in the rest of Indonesia, which is presented in the form of cake. Unlike TOFU which is like a quesillo with small holes as in Swiss cheese, TEMPEH contains 5% more protein (19% ), but, in addition, contains fiber, which does not have tofu.
