tapsia . ( Of the lat. ) thapsia, and this of the Gr. ? to?(a). 1. f. herbaceous plant growing to lively, the family of the Umbelíferas, as of a meter in height, with short, thick, slightly striated stem. It has entire, petiolate leaves the lower items in lacinias averages and with only the petiole superior, yellow flowers and fruit dry, oval and circuido of a membranous fin. Of the root takes a juice of consistency of honey with which prepares a sticking plaster on canvas or paper, widely used as a lever.
