Meaning of soemi

Felipe Lorenzo del Río

soemi
  26

soemi is incorrectly written, and should be written as "Naomi" being its meaning: It is a Jewish woman's name which means sweetness in Hebrew, the name of a character in the old testament that appears in the book of Ruth, a woman married and enviudada of a son of Naomi maobita. The author of the book is unknown to us and probably wrote it after the captivity of Babylon. It presents Ruth as the model of all virtues of Judaism, despite being a moabitess. Through her, her mother-in-law Naomi will receive all the blessings of the Lord.
