OBSTRUCTIVE SHOCK A SHOCK is the anomalous and circumstantial inability to provide sufficient perfusion of oxygenated blood and substrates to tissues. One of the 5 types of organic shocks that a body can suffer, in addition to the 1 HYPOVOLEMIC SHOCK, 2. CARDIOGENIC SHOCK , 3 . DISTRIBUTIVE SHOCK and 4 . DISSOCIATIVE SHOCK . Obstructive is caused by a mechanical obstruction of ventricular outflow, which may be due to congenital or acquired failures.
