Septembrada. Sust. FEM. Uprising occurred in Brazil, in 1831 - during the Regency-, Maranhão and Pernambuco, by antilusitano feeling after the abdication of Pedro I. In Mata-Moroto da Bahia and in Rusga, in Mato Grosso, similar actions. In Pernambuco was part of a series of riots that lasted three years. Effectively, in Maranhão the eclosionó movement on December 13, 1831. Urged to limit the activities of the Portuguese trade, militia, owned the land and finance. On June 19, 1832 emerged a new uprising, motivated by the same claims, but her stifled the prompt government response. Then emerges the figure of the popular Damascus Joao Antonio, who leads the fighting outside of urban areas, on guerrillas, until the confrontation of the Boqueirao, where he died.
