Cerete is also used. It is one of the common names of a small American rodent, scientific name Dasyprocta punctata of the Family Dasyproctidae. It is also called añuje, picure, carma, ñeque, guatín, zerete, cotuza, jochi, cherenga, guatuza and sihuayro.
