sansevieria (Sansevieria thyrsiflora, Sansevieria zeylanica and other species of the same genus) f. Liliaceous plant typical of the tropical countries of Asia and Africa. Almost all species produce textile fibers and some are cultivated as decorative by their long flecked leaves and ensiformes (in the form of spear point).
