Heliconia is a municipality of Colombia in the West of the Department of Antioquia. When the Spanish conquerors arrived Guaca was called and was an indigenous people dedicated to produce loaves of salt. The Spaniards were devoted to exploiting the salinas (salt mines) which caused them much wealth. Since then salt Guaca or Heliconia became famous.
