quillay . ( Of the mapuche cúllay , certain tree). 1. m. arg. , Bull and Chile. Tree of the family of Rosaceae, of large size, wood useful and whose inner bark is used as SOAP to wash fabrics and the head of the people. Its trunk is high, and covered with bark thick and Cinderella, very lush, with tiny, leathery, elliptic, obtuse, slightly toothed, hairless and shortly petiolate leaves. Its flowers are whitish petals and Calyx suborbicular outside, and its fruit is a follicle, suborbicular.
