The common organisations of markets are specific agreements governing the production and trade of agricultural products in all the European Union Member States. Since the adoption of the common agricultural policy, these organizations have been gradually replacing national market organisations in those sectors in which it is estimated necessary.Common market organisations are fundamentally aimed to meet the objectives of the common agricultural policy, in particular, to stabilize the markets, ensure a fair standard of living for farmers and increase the productivity of agriculture. They include around 90% of the final agricultural production community. On the one hand, to ensure the purchase of surplus production and external protection against imports from lower cost ( cereals, rice, sugar, milk and products dairy and meat cattle ) and, on the other, establish regimes that support prices and providing direct aid ( cereals, durum wheat and olive oil ) that they only lend direct aid ( oilseeds, flax, hemp and cotton ) which are protected from imports and encourage exports ( poultry and eggs ) or that they only provide protection against imports ( some fruits and vegetables ).In order to make the most of the resources assigned to them and the objectives of the common organisation of markets-( increase productivity, improvement of marketing, attention to environmental considerations ) the producers are grouped, on a voluntary basis, in producer organisations. The Community institutions stimulate and promote, through the contribution of funds, the establishment of such organizations.
