It is a set made up of nine elements. Team of nine players, as is a baseball team, that's why this team of baseball players is called ninth. Ninth is also a type of Catholic ritual that is done for nine days (or nights) or also for nine months (one every month). It is usually made to a particular saint and with an intention or request.
