A 'pseudotherapy' is a "false medical treatment that appears to be effective", usually promoted by psychotics with healing delusions or by scammers who profit from the disease of others. They have euphemistic names such as "alternative therapy", sometimes "integrative therapy" or "complementary therapy", although in most cases they influence the patient to abandon medical treatment.
