Taking apocalypse in the broad sense, such as the fall of civilization as we know it, 'post-apocalyptic' would be the post-crisis period. The ruined world, with humans trying to survive and/or rebuild society, is a recurring theme in science fiction. It is formed with the prefix post- the apocalyptic adjective.
