( Del gr. ??????????). 1. m. herbaceous plant of the family of the Polemoniáceas of seven to eight decimetres of tall, with stems roundwood, asurcados, something embodied and ramosos, seated, items in narrow segments and lanceolate leaves fragrant flowers of blue, purple, or white corolla, and fruit of three cells which contain many seeds small and pointed. It is found in Asia minor, its roots are fibrous and perennial, was formerly used in medicine as sudorífica, and today is cultivated in gardens because it preserves the leaves during the winter and gives in summer and autumn beautiful and many flowers.
